My Life Being Outsourced

by Nick Johnson

This particular subject is going to be talked about a lot here on this site, primarily from me.

Check out: 3 Ways to Start Outsourcing Your Email next & then: 2 Changes to Consider W/ My Email

While you should expect to see a lot of great content flowing from myself and our wonderful guest posting authors you will also see a lot of my own life portrayed through this site as well to give you insight to who I am, what I do, where I’m going. It’s really a great way for me to connect with you beyond just the written word.

My ultimate goal is create relationships with each of my readers and this site will be my medium in which I can do that.

For those of you that know me personally, whether its literally in person, via email conversations, twitter or I’ve had the great pleasure to speak with you over the phone you’ve probably realized that I’m a genuine believer in outsourcing a lot! I’ve even been called the outsourcing king which of course was just a joke because I’m no where near as good at it as I would like, but that leads to me to the point of this post.

In addition to a lot of great things you should expect from this site, of which should include:

  • Short Sales
  • Subject2
  • Lease/Options
  • Wraps
  • anything else considered creative
  • Motivation
  • Inspiration
  • How to’s about many things
  • Social Media speaking
  • etc. etc. etc. etc. …….

I’m going to give you a glimpse into my outsourcing life as it is now and as I improve it.

There are many things I would like to accomplish and I’m realizing more and more that those things are increasingly available to me, all I really need to do is get someone to do what I do for me, basically a clone as close as possible, this is where outsourcing comes in.

I have outsourced a lot of my business already, but, I didn’t realize the true abilities of great outsourcing until I read Timothy Ferriss’s book 4-Hour Work Week (amazon link at bottom of page). See, I’m really interested in traveling abroad for months at a time, photography high adrenaline sports/activities.

This summer, I plan on taking the family to Prague-The Capital of the Czech Republic for at least 2-3 weeks. Why Prague? well, it’s just a start, I’ve always been fascinated with it whenever I would watch the travel channel, see photos of it. I simply love places with a lot of history and culture so it’s always been on my list among many other places of course.

I also plan on beginning my photography hobby. This has really been a long time coming. I simply super suck at taking pictures. The last time I had a decent digital camera/camcorder I lost it in Vegas because I was completely intoxicated to where one eye wouldn’t open and the other one was crossed. I’ve always wanted to take better photographs of my kids/family and create much better albums instead of the $5.99 Walgreens disposable camera, so, learning how to get half decent at photography is on my list this year as well.

Increasing my outsourcing will allow me the time to take the trips to Prague and take amazing photographs with my children while we travel abroad. It’s a much better to document your travels and have pieces of memory if you ask me.

So, if you’ve noticed on the right side of this blog(currently) there is a Big @ss display ad for AskSunday.com, yes it’s an affiliate link, but hey, if they’re going to pay someone, I might as well ‘try’ to make a buck right? Much more on that topic as well to come, trust me. Back to the ad. This particular one was mentioned by Timothy Ferris on his fourhourworkweek.com site and so far it seems legit as some friends of mine including myself have had Bad experiences with Virtual Assistants before so I will not go forth with a blind eye, I can assure you that.

So without further ad00-doo I will leave you hanging right there hopefully wanting and needing more. I won’t be doing a series per say, but I will blog about what and how and why I’m outsourcing and be sure to not leave out any details. I will assure you that shortly, I will tell you how I’m doing with my start in limiting and outsourcing my emails.

Awesome…can't wait to see where it goes Nick. I was just thumbing through The updated 4HWW at the bookstore last night, probably should have bought it. I'm super excited to have James doing our negotiations for us – thanks again for hooking us up. Just that little bit of outsourcing has lifted a big burden from my shoulders – particularly since I apparently suck D*** at negotiating.

yes!! you should have bought it. I would stop what you're doing and go back to the bookstore and buy it now! read it and then re-read it. Its become a reference guide for me now.

I have the original and loved it. I do need to revisit it or maybe buy the new one – is there that much new info that its worth it to have both copies?

Nick Johnson January 15, 2010 at 3:41 pm

dunno, I never owned the original. I actually never heard of Tim Ferriss until Gary Vaynerchuk made mentions of him.

Hey Dave, I spoke with a few friends who have read both versions….all of them said that the extra 100 pages in the expanded version are GOLD and that its a must-read. I've read the original but I just got my copy of the expanded one and will be starting it shortly.

Nick, I think its cool that you're going to pick up a photography hobby. Enjoy!

Oh, and if you want to add another AMAZING place to visit and take photographs of, add Cape Town, South Africa to your list :-) It's absolutely breathtaking.

Africa is actually on the list, but more so Nigeria for special reasons. I look forward to making that trip actually

This is a goal I have eventually. Once I get to the stage where I can outsource my plan to visit all the major cities in the great USA. I want to be in my childrens life more and be a soccer dad, lol, not work 50hrs a week and be drained.

Make it bigger! This summer, I'm going to spend some time abroad with at least my older kids. I truly my strengths lay in the ability to bring out others strengths to achieve greatness as a team. This is why outsourcing is important to me, all by myself, I am weak, with a team behind me, I am 10 feet tall and bulletproof.

LeJon Ratchford January 25, 2010 at 5:01 am

I hear that nick. I will take you advice and make big things happen, thanks
